I have put this page together for new and aspiring models.
Below is information both on how to prepare to get the most
from a shoot and practical information about the business
side of modeling and self promotion.

Headshot

Almost anyone can model if they are determined and realistic about the
kinds of modeling they are suited to.  For example the physical requirements
for fashion are different than glamor modeling.  Where you live also limits
what kinds of modeling jobs are available.

Fashon         Work for runway and high fashion models is usually found in major citys like New York and Paris.
To get regular work its best to live in one of the citys with a Fashion industry and to start young.
Female Models in these fields are 5'9 to 5'10 a B cup and wear a standard size 8/10 at least in
major markets,  Its easier to hire models the same size than provide clothes in a bunch of sizes.

Promotional models can be almost any physical type as long as they are attractive and outgoing.
These jobs are available in even small markets and are easier for a model with little experience
to find work in.  They can be as mundane as getting people to try out the newest kind of  soda
at a trade show to something more fun like showing off the newest yachts.

commCommercial modeling is the kind of thing you see in catalogs and print ads
Not as available as promotional modeling but easier to get than runway work.
Images in this kind of portfolio are very different that glamor or fashion.  A
model needs to look like someone the average person would know rather
than a supermodel.

Glamor modeling pays well and work is available in most places.
It does not have the hight requirements of fashion.   It is best if the
model is Veluptious and confident on camera.  Weather the images
are used in advertising or more erotic images on the web or in
             magazines, sex sells !

Pictures.  Either to take to an agency or to premote yourself.
You need someone who knows the kind of pictures needed in marketable portfolio.. If you can find a photographer to
shoot  TFCD you can gain experience but for pictures for a portfolio you need a professional or very talented amature.

 Before a shoot

Look in magazines and ads and practice in the mirror to see what poses work for you.
Learn what   You Need To do   Is a good idea to bring  Modeling terms mean
  What to ask the photographer

redy
Start thinking
   like a model
Never wear anything under your clothes that does not match your skin tone or the outfit on top.
Dont wear underwear unless asked to. ( They pattern through under strobe lights)
Think of  the images you want to make when deciding how to pose.( shy , vixen , buissness  woman)
Learn to be not just comfortable with your body but confident and extroverted.  It hurts the images
when you look nervous. It also slows you down changing backstage or on a remote beach and makes
fitting you to an outfit a real problem.  If other models discover you are shy they will use it against you!
Make it as easy as you can for the photographer.  You get better pictures( and hopefully hired again! )
